The Mendoza Message for the

April 22, 2025

We are truly enjoying this beautiful weather. In the classroom, we have been learning about Earth Day, and how we can take care of the Earth- not just on Earth Day, but everyday.

The students enjoyed themselves at our Field Trip to Ella Sharp Museum.  Below are photos of our field trip.

Remember, Wednesday, April 23rd is an Early Release Day.  Dismissal is at 1:00pm.

A field trip form for our next field trip went home yesterday.  Please return it back as soon as you can.

Also, remember to turn in the Talent Show form by May 5th, if your child would like to be in it.

Remember to look at the Lawton Lost and Found regularly. The children are taking off their coats when they are outside for recess and forgetting to bring it in.  Therefore, there is a large number of coats in the Lost and Found.

If you would like to volunteer in the building during school hours you will need to complete this background check:  Complete Volunteer Background Check 24-25

Completing the background check allows you to be with children during the school day, class parties, and to chaperone field trips.  If you think you might be helping out at any time during the year, please fill it out now.  Don’t want to wait until the last minute.

Again, here is the QR Code to the Amazon “Wish List”, since I have added some items.

Remember, please charge the laptop to 100%, so it is ready for use in the classroom for Monday.

Our SEL work continues on with a focus on - Maintaining Relationships

This week’s lesson focused on maintaining our relationships. : In some of our previous lessons, we learned how to make new friends and how to treat our friends in a way we also want to be treated. This week we thought about and then shared what makes a good friend. Being respectful is one important way to keep our relationships with others healthy, even when we disagree.
