November 8, 2024

The Mendoza Message

for

November 8, 2024

This was a very busy and short week.  The children seem to have adjusted with the time change too.  Next week will be a very busy week.

Picture Retakes will be next week on Wednesday, November 13th.

Also, we will attend an author visit on Wednesday, November 13th.

Then, the Book Fair is next week.  We will be going to the Book Fair on Thursday, November 14th from 10:45-11:00 am.  You can come in and shop with your child at that time or you can send in money (no more than $20) with your child.  Please remind your child that the money that you give them is only for them and not their friends. You are also able to set up an eWallet and put money into that eWallet ahead of time. Here is some more information about the The Book Fair:

In-person shopping is from November 13-15th. Here are the hours when it the Book Fair is open:

Wednesday, November 13th from 4pm-6:30pm: Parent Night!

Thursday, November 14th from 9am-3:30pm: Class and Student Shopping

Friday, November 15th from 9am-12pm: Student Shopping

Online shopping is from November 13-26th

Lastly, we will be planting bulbs in the garden on Friday, November 15th from 10-10:20 am.

As we have seen, this is the time of the year that the temperatures will vary.  Please make sure your child is dressed properly for the weather.  Your child may need to layer their clothing.  Also, please label your child’s items.  If it is left in the classroom, I can make sure they will get it back.  Another thing, please check daily that your child brought everything home.  If something did not make it home, please check Lost and Found, Lunchroom and the Bus (for those who take the bus) right away.  The quicker you notice it is missing, the quicker it will make it back home. And labeling your child’s items will make it easier to find too. FYI, when I was out, I came back to a classroom with a number of jackets in the classroom with no name inside.  So please check daily, and label your child’s items.

Please look at the Lawton Lost and Found.  It is starting to get filled up.

If you would like to volunteer in the building during school hours you will need to complete this background check:  Complete Volunteer Background Check 24-25

Completing the background check allows you to be with children during the school day, class parties, and to chaperone field trips.  If you think you might be helping out at any time during the year, please fill it out now.  Don’t want to wait until the last minute.

Again, here is the QR Code to the Amazon “Wish List”, since I have added some items.

Remember, please charge the laptop to 100%, so it is ready for use in the classroom for Monday.
