The Mendoza Message
for
March 21, 2025
Spring is officially here. We did have some nice warm days during the middle of this week. But the cold, rainy weather came back. Hopefully, we will have consistent Spring temperature weather soon.
Remember, Spring Break starts today after school. There is NO SCHOOL next week. We return on Monday, March 31st. If you know you will not be here at the beginning of the week of March 31st, please inform me and the office.
March is Reading Month is almost done. The Lawton March is Reading Month Calendar was sent home. But just in case it did not make it home, below is the Lawton March is Reading Month Calendar. There are still items to do during Spring Break. Also, below is the March Reading Log, in case your child misplaced it. I will be collecting them on Monday, March 31st.
Thank you Ms. Ha, Ms. Taylor, and Ms. Rieckhoff for being our “Guest Reader” this week
The children enjoyed all of the fun activities this week. Monday started off with “Book Tasting”. The children were able to look at books. Please see the photos below. Wednesday, Slauson’s 8th grade choir performed for Lawton. On Thursday, they enjoyed the 4th grade performance. Lastly, on Friday it was Flashlight Friday and Pajama Day. The entire building silently read in the hallway at the end of the day.
Spring is here. So, please remember to make sure your child is dressed appropriately for the weather. You never know what the temperature will be from day to day. Your child still may need some type of boots for those rainy/muddy days.
Remember to look at the Lawton Lost and Found regularly.
If you would like to volunteer in the building during school hours you will need to complete this background check: Complete Volunteer Background Check 24-25
Completing the background check allows you to be with children during the school day, class parties, and to chaperone field trips. If you think you might be helping out at any time during the year, please fill it out now. Don’t want to wait until the last minute.
Again, here is the QR Code to the Amazon “Wish List”, since I have added some items.
Remember, please charge the laptop to 100%, so it is ready for use in the classroom for Monday.
